NecronomiCon Providence 2022
Last week, I received an invitation to serve as a panelist at NecronomiCon Providence 2022. This conference is dedicated to the study and enjoyment of the writer H. P. Lovecraft and weird fiction. It will be held between August 18 and August 21, 2022 and it promises to be a terrific long weekend of talks, readings, tours, screenings, and all-around fun.
This will be my first in-person public event since the pandemic began and my first on H. P. Lovecraft. I’ll be conversing with other scholars about the long and complex friendship shared by the gentleman from Providence and James F. Morton. In many ways, Morton stood as a contrast to Lovecraft. He lived a colorful life, embraced radical politics, advocated for civil rights, and found professional success. Morton also figured prominently in Lovecraft’s New York experience, so this conversation will dovetail with my forthcoming book. You might say that I’m excited.
If you’re a Lovecraft aficionado, enjoy cultural history, or simply looking for a novel way to pass a few summer days, think about buying a ticket to NecronomiCon. Hope to see you in Providence!
